Amy Winehouse’s Mom Scared for Her Daughter’s Life

With Amy Winehouse and her husband currently in rehab, Janis Winehouse, Amy’s mother, is concerned that her daughter is on a self-destructive path that will end in her death. Last week, Amy collapsed from a drug overdose that included ketamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana, resulting in her in checking into rehab for treatment. Janis spoke with her daughter shortly after Amy’s collapse.
“She looked terrible. She was lucky to be alive,’ she tells the Mail On Sunday. ‘I think her brain’s addled. This isn’t Amy.
“I hugged her and kept saying, ‘What are you doing to yourself?’
“She has said to me, ‘I don’t think I’m going to survive that long.’ She’s on a path of self-mutilation.”
Janis revealed that Amy told her mother of her anorexia and bulimia last year and her mother fears that Amy is in a tailspin out of which she might not be able to right herself. This is so depressing. It’s a lot sadder to me than when someone whose music I don’t give a crap about is in rehab. Kidding! It’s always sad. But still, if this were happening to Nickelback or something, maybe it wouldn’t be so scary.
