Typically there is a party after the premiere of a film at the Cannes film festival, but Angelina Jolie didn't feel that it would be appropriate to celebrate the screening of the film "A Mighty Heart." An evening of dancing and singing probably wouldn't be the most appropriate way to end the evening after screening the film.

The film is based on a novel by Mariane Pearl, wife of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and brutally slain by terrorists in Pakistan.

Directed by Michael Winterbottom, the film features Jolie as Mariane, who was pregnant with Daniel's son Adam at the time of his abduction.

Jolie expressed her sentiments after seeing the film recently. Instead of an after party, a quiet dinner is being planned that will be attended by Winterbottom, the producers, members of the cast and Mariane Pearl, who will be traveling from her home in Paris.

Mariane and Daniel's parents in the US have already seen the film.
