In the racing world, the coveted Indy 500 title is among the most desired.  This time around Dario Franchitti was the big winner.  The 91st installment of the race took place this past Sunday, and his wife, Ashley Judd, was there to cheer him on.

“The ups and downs throughout the day – what can I say?” Franchitti said to the Indianapolis Star. “I’m in shock right now – it’s been a rollercoaster month, and it was a rollercoaster day.”

The race took place in a rainstorm.  “It was going to come down to a dogfight, and there’s a lot of strong cars.  Whatever happened, if it came down to that dogfight, it was going to be hard, so I was hoping for the rain.”

And behind him all the way was his adoring wife Ashley.  She stuck it out in the rain with her sundress getting soaked.  When he completed the final lap, she dashed out to the victory area to greet her champion hubby.

Franchitti was thrilled to be the 91st winner of the race.  “I can hardly believe it! Who would have thought it?”
