With conflicting reports floating around on the Internet, it’s hard to know if Britney Spears is actually going to be performing at the upcoming Video Music Awards in Vegas or not. E! Entertainment is reporting that initially, MTV had planned on having Britney Spears perform with Criss Angel, the Mindfreak illusionist guy, but that now the network is opting to go with a performance from Justin Timberlake as the opening for the show. It’s understandable that they’d want to go with a performer less likely to have a meltdown minutes before the show. However, Entertainment Weekly also reported yesterday that they were tipped off by a source at the network that Brit-Brit will be taking to the stage at the event. Who knows? Maybe they’re just going to limit her responsibilities to making sure that none of her bits have to be pixellated while she presents an award.
