Oh, I remember reading Seventeen magazine and thinking, “Wow, this is a great magazine! I’m so glad there’s one specifically tailored to my special teenage needs!” And also, “Really? Grunge is over? But I was having such a good time…” And Seventeen magazine is still providing fashion and dating tips to teens and stubborn twenty-somethings across the nation, most recently chatting with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine about how to land the guy of your dreams.

“Say or do something that’s out of the ordinary,” People magazine quoted him as saying in the August issue of Seventeen magazine.

“It’s not about what perfume you’re wearing or if your shoes are cute. If you do something with purpose that is different than what everybody else does, then it makes you stand out,” he added.

Personally, I keep it simple: wear a bacon mini-skirt. It will get you noticed very quickly, and they usually want to get it off you in no time flat. But that might be a little too CLASSY for you guys cause I’m something of an elegant lady.

Maroon 5 Are a Hit!

Four years after releasing their debut album Maroon 5 score a number one album. Their album “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long” sold 429,000 copies in the week ended May 28, according to Nielsen SoundScan data. One reason for this is the popularity of their song “Makes Me Wonder” which is currently also number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

The group sold 102,000 copies of its new album digitally, breaking a record set last week when rock band Linkin Park’s “Minutes to Midnight” moved 84,000 via that format to debut at No. 1. The latter album fell to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 198,000, a hefty 68 percent sales slide.

Osbourne flew in at No. 3 with “Black Rain,” which sold 152,000 copies. That’s only 1,000 fewer than the opening week for 2001’s “Down to Earth,” which entered at No. 4. Nearly a quarter of sales for “Black Rain” came from digital retailers, which offered early ticketing to this summer’s Ozzfest with pre-orders for the limited edition of the album.

With the bands new CD getting great reviews, it is fitting that Maroon 5 celebrated the release of their new CD “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.” The thing about Maroon 5 is that while they have a huge teen fan base, the twentysomethings and older are closet Maroon 5 fans as well. Maybe it’s because Adam Levine is just so darn cute.
