Gisele Bundchen is shifting her focus from booty to bunions. OK, that didn’t come out sounding quite as literary as I was hoping it would. What I’m clumsily trying to express is that the Victoria’s Secret angel is launching her Ipanema shoe collection for the Australian shoe company Novo Shoes. The line will feature a series of sandals and thongs, in keeping with the model’s sun-kissed, beach-friendly persona. Here she is, kicking off her heels and showing off her sexy model feet in Melbourne the other night to an adoring crowd. In response to the cheers, she said:

“I feel like the president here.”

I love that because if you look at that first little thumbnail to the left here, you can see an exuberant Gisele raising up her shoes triumphantly while the citizens of her bizarre country walk around and appear to consist solely of women in gold lame bikinis and serious guys in business suits.

As if being genetically blessed weren’t enough, Gisele Bundchen can now boast that she’s also the richest maiden in the land. The Brazilian supermodel came in at number one on Forbes.com’s 2007 list of The Top Earning Models in the World. Her earnings of $33 million dollars easily dwarfed the income of her second-place competitor, Kate Moss, whose $9 million dollar intake seemed comparatively paltry. With nearly 20 major contracts that she steadfastly maintains, the South American supermodel’s international fashion campaigns, including a record-making $5 million dollar a year contract with Victoria’s Secret, have made her by far the richest supermodel out there today.

Calm down, Gis. Sources say that things aren’t all European vacations and limo cuddling with Gisele Bundchen and her guy, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Go Pats! Sorry, I’m in Boston, I have to do that. Anyway, Tom’s ex Bridget Moynihan is set to spread her legs and give Tom’s spawn to the world any day now. Gisele is allegedly unhappy about this. What’s she gonna do? Stuff it back in? Is she crazy? She needs to eat something. She’s delirious. Have a cupcake.

While the two have put up a happy front for the cameras - and his family is even said to be flying out to Italy to spend time at the villa in Rome she recently acquired - our spies say Bundchen is upset that Brady’s ex, Bridget Moynahan, is due to give birth to Brady’s son on Friday - Bundchen’s birthday. The tension has grown so intense that the couple fought openly in front of hotel guests in Napa while staying at the five-star Auberge du Soleil.

God forbid you might have to share your boyfriend WITH HIS CHILD. Selfish model. “Tom, thees babee haz spit upon me once more. Thees dress is John Galliano! I keel baby!” Just because he has that annoying “visitation rights” thing doesn’t mean you have to share in it. Just book a shoot whenever he has to see the little bastard. Wow, hire me out as a life coach.

He doesn’t do it for me (I’m more of a Matt Light kind of guy), but the ladies love him. Gisele has many reasons to be happy. Gisele Bundchen got the chance to play with some balls the other day, not the balls in the room that I would have liked to play with, but it did look like she was having a good time.

Gisele Bundchen, proved she was game for a laugh this week as she attempted to kick a football in a mini-dress and pair of gold stilettos. She could have been forgiven for passing up the opportunity, however, considering she was in the presence of French footballing hero Thierry Henry who couldn’t resist a smile as he watched the leggy model in action.

The pair were joining forces at an event in London’s Covent Garden where Swiss watch brand Ebel was announced as the official timing sponsor of Arsenal, the football team for which handsome Thierry plays.

I wonder how much Gisele is earning for this deal?

When the Brazilian supermodel stepped onto the catwalk at Rio’s Fashion Week Tuesday night, she was treated to the kind of adulation usually reserved for rock stars and well…super-dupermodels. Those inside the sold-out event screamed and cried at getting to see Giselle strut her stuff, just as much as those fans stuck outside did the same over missing out on the festivities going on just out of their reach.

On another note, these pictures of Gisele enjoying herself in some fancy dresses are so much fun. And that one of her in boxing gloves and a gown totally reminds me of the get-up that I wear to the gym for my kickboxing classes. Only my heels are silver lame, cause I’m slightly less fancy.

And I know what you’re thinking, but no, it’s not physical perfection. The Brazilian supermodel recently spoke out on the Catholic Church’s stance on condoms, as well her belief that women should have the right to choose when it comes to abortion. A visit to Brasil by the Pope had him speaking very firmly about his opposition to the use of contraception, as well as a strong stance on abortion. He emphasized a rejection of sex outside of marriage. On the issue of abortion, Bundchen had this to say:

“If she thinks she doesn’t have the money or the emotional condition to raise a child, why should she give birth?”

And as for the Pope’s inability to condone the use of contraceptives:

“It’s ridiculous to ban contraceptives — you only have to think of the diseases that are transmitted without them. I think it should be compulsory to use a contraceptive.”

Now, maybe I’m just dizzy from all of the pre-marital sex I’ve been enjoying, but it’s kind of nice to hear a supermodel taking a stand on something slightly more controversial than hemlines.

Maybe Britney Spears can find comfort in this story. Model Gisele Bundchen has revealed that she once shaved her head as well. This was during an extremely low point during her five year relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bundchen says, “It was not a fun time in my life - but I know the shame and torment Britney went through, when she cut all her hair off… I immediately regretted my hasty decision and flew to Brazil to hide out with my family till it grew back. I’ll never cut it again - I think my success as a model is down to my boobs and my hair.”

Now if someone else would just step forward and reveal how they assaulted a car with an umbrella, she’s almost have a full support group ready to go.
