I’m not sure exactly if he’s trying to explain himself, apologize or re-emphasize his original statement, that he made at the most recent MTV Video Music Awards. After Britney Spears’ opening act, Kanye West was pissed, declaring, “Maybe my money’s not right, maybe my skin’s not right.” Now, West has spoken with Access Hollywood, appearing to make an attempt to clarify the situation.

“I think that I have a powerful voice and I might have misused it on that night.”

“I think I said a lot of things that were true but maybe it wasn’t my place to particularly call those things out.”

So, it sounds like Kanye’s basically saying that he consistently underestimates his own strength and influence on the American public. True that, Kanye. I too hold a similar position of influence over the general population, so it’s a wonder I don’t feel worse when I consistently abuse it. And plan on continuing to do so.

I just love the random expressions you get from people on the red-carpet. It’s impossible to look normal all the time, so it’s fun when someone like Kanye West here, randomly looks guilty for no reason at all. That’s one of the many reasons why yours truly is not famous. I sneeze a lot. No need to have the resulting facial expressions documented for posterity. At the opening for the new boutique, Intermix, on Robertson in Los Angeles, Kanye’s arrival caused quite a stir, distracting from the other red-carpet regulars like some cast members from “The Hills,” Kim Kardashian, Nicky Hilton and Eve. I have to say that I really like Nicky’s look here–the spangly top is cute and she finally seems to have landed on a hair color that’s both natural-looking and flattering. Kudos, less-annoying Hilton. Kim Kardashian looks predictably beautiful, but I never quite understand what it is she does.

Here’s Cranky Diaper and 50 Cent appearing together on BET. For those of you not in the know, they have been pulling this advertising ploy in which they challenged each other to release their albums at the same time yesterday and the loser would drop out of the biz or something. You know they both have stock in each other’s albums or something. Anyway, Kanye came out on top. Does this mean 50 Cent is going to resign himself to a career as something Paris Hilton rubs up against to prove she’s not racist in photos? What is that career called? Ignorant White Girl Rep Booster?

The preppy singer’s CD was handily beating his Queens-born rapper foe’s in online sales on several sites as both albums debuted yesterday.

West’s Graduation, the latest installment in his college-themed trilogy, soared to the top of the charts on Amazon.com, while “Fitty’s” landed at a disappointing No. 6. With iTunes, West’s new album was ranked as the second best seller of the day.

“This album is simply amazing,” one customer posted. “Buy it now and forget about 50 Cent for a while.”

And send Kanye some Pampers while you’re at it! You don’t reward someone for acting like an adult baby! You restrict them to a website and or use as a potential blackmail victim!

Beyonce better hide that statuette before Kanye snatches it. Kanye is putting MTV on blast, saying they screwed both him and Britney over at the VMA’s, and that he will never work with them again. Wasn’t he quoted before the show saying he thought Britney shouldn’t have opened and her career was over? Now he feels for her? What a difference a day makes.

“They exploited Britney in helping to end her career,” West told deejay JJ at New York radio station Z100 on Monday. “When Britney was opening [the VMA telecast], near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, ‘Man, it’s a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out.’”

Kanye went on to say it was his life’s dream or something to perform his new single “Stronger” as the show opener, and that he was extremely unhappy that he was relegated to a “guest suite”. This was so staged and dumb and these two are money-grubbing whores. Though I like Kanye’s style. 50 Cent and West have been involved in this faux-feud where their albums are both coming on out Sept. 11 so they were challenging each other and it was all very homoerotic. It actually wasn’t but I know 50 has a problem with the gays so any chance to insinuate he likes the D makes me feel empowered. It’s the little things, I tell you. Anyway, they’ve declared a peace throughout the money-grubbing whore land.

The fake feud between Kanye West and 50 Cent is over. The two were chest thumping about outselling each other when they release albums next month. But the bogus bombast ended over vodka shots Wednesday night at 40/40 Club with Jay-Z, Sean Combs and T.I. The hip-hop summit meeting had fans going crazy as the five rappers strolled like the Rat Pack through the club.

There was anarchy for overpaid people strolling past them! That’s how I felt when I met Susan Powter on Rosie’s Cruise. Bitch has an aura about her. Pink dreads and tats. I will never forget what it felt like to meet the woman who questioned “HAM?!? HAM IS FAT-FREE?!?!”

While Kanye West should be celebrating his single “Stronger” reaching the top of the UK singles chart, he’s too busy discussing his struggle with homophobia to care. Kanye was once disgusted by the homophobia he experienced in the hip-hop world, stating he met “so many different gay people who are actually nice people.” Unfortunately, he changed his tune after rap fans questioned his sexually.

Kanye now says he, too, remains a homophobe.

“Speaking out against hip-hop homophobia, some people were like ‘Oh, Kanye must be gay! Look at the way he’s dressing! And why would he speak about it? He’s a gay rapper’,” he notes. “And my whole point is, I wouldn’t have spoke on that if I was gay or if I was in the closet. I would have stayed so far away from it.

“And I’m still homophobic myself to certain extent… You know, I wouldn’t go to a gay parade and feel comfortable. I wouldn’t ever to a gay club or something and just be chillin’ and grab a drink.

Kanye Continues His Speech About Feelings After the Jump

There isn’t a video for this single yet, but it’s my favorite song of the moment, and I wanted you to hear it. Kanye West produced the disc and it features Lily Allen.

The man sure knows how to celebrate. Kanye West’s birthday party took place at the Louis Vuitton store in New York. It was a mixture of hip-hop and rock artists with Fran Drescher thrown in for good measure.

The party brought out a bevy of big-time guests including Jay-Z, Diddy and Mariah Carey — who all holed up by the first floor entrance with the birthday boy — as well as Common, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Ashlee Simpson, Travis Barker, Fabolous, Ashanti and Jermaine Dupri (after his early morning car accident). Pharrell Williams, the Clipse, John Legend and West all took the stage to perform throughout the night, while Q-Tip served as DJ. (Check out pictures from the party here.) Kanye’s birthday cake featured his signature College Dropout bear, and dancers dressed in Vuitton bathing suits and sandals performed in the store’s display cases.

Afterwards, the partygoers headed on over to Tenjune nightclub where the afterparty took place.
