Was she panicking because she has no idea what she’s famous for besides dating everyone? Do you know? Penelope Cruz had a major freakout on an airplane on Thursday, causing a grounding and some luggage being tossed around.

Penelope Cruz had a panic attack onboard a Continental flight from Newark to Barcelona Thursday night. Cruz, who appeared to be traveling alone, was in first class and became agitated after the plane left the gate. After she spoke with the cockpit, the plane returned to the gate and Cruz deplaned. A fellow passenger told Huffington Post, “She was freaking out and refused to fly.” In the process of Cruz deplaning, the flight removed all the bags, which then sat in the rain, so that the airline could locate her luggage.

The status on Continental’s website of Flight 120 shows that the airplane returned to the gate in Newark before taking off almost two hours late, at 8:52 pm for a 7:10 pm departure.

If this is some “Final Destination” shit, then I’m with her. Planes are scary. I know it’s safer than driving, but still - small metal tube suspended thousands of feet in the air and you have no clue who’s driving or about your other passengers. There’s a recipe for safety. But if this was some kind of celebrity drama mama drug flashback, then hopefully some battle axe flight attendant put her on blast before the deplaning.

Here’s a few randoms on the purple carpet (of course) for Prince’s gig at L.A.’s Roosevelt Hotel on Saturday night. He played the first in a seven night series where tickets went for as much as $3,121 (which is also the title of the show - 3121). Does Paisley Park need central air put in? Penelope Cruz, Diddy, Nas, Erykah Badu, Rick Fox, Jay Mohr, and other celebrity types were present.

After a minor speed bump in his social activities (otherwise known as his “relationship” with the boobies of Jessica Simpson), John Mayer’s back in the game of telling women en masse about how much he’d like to explore their Wonderlands. And the most recent object of his desire is Penelope Cruz, from whom John was witnessed programming her phone number into his cellie. According to the New York Daily News:

Pen and her new bff, Shakira, attended an after-party at Hollywood hot spot Parc following John’s June 10 concert, according to our witness.
But Shaki was nowhere to be found when John was spotted entering Penelope’s digits into his phone.

Ugh. John Mayer, I was over you before you even started being John Mayer. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would adjust the mirrors in the bedroom so he can watch himself while he sings some vapid love song to his next flavor of the minute, saying, “God you’re just so beautiful,” as she undresses–allowing her to believe that he’s referring to her.

Penelope Cruz and Josh Hartnett returned from a tropical vacation together - and promptly started banging other people . I wonder what happened in Turks & Caicos? She’s on to Lenny Kravtiz now. Supposedly they’re just old friends. But following him on tour? Groupie!

Star magazine reported Penelope took her crew to Lenny Kravitz’s TriBeCa apartment after her April 28 birthday party at the Beatrice Inn. She’s since been postponing her shoots for European fashion line Mango to follow Kravitz, her longtime musician friend, on his tour, our sources said. Pen and Len aren’t the only ones catching spring fever - Hartnett has recently been spotted at New York hot spots with Helena Christensen. A rep for Cruz told Page Six, “I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.”

I’m glad Helena Christensen is still getting the young tail. That broad’s been around since MTV’s “House of Style”! *sigh* I loved that show. Todd Oldham taught me how to decorate my dorm room for just pennies.
