Roberto Cavalli Whipstitched Leather Purse

It’s got an unusual shape, but Roberto Cavalli’s Whipstitched Leather Purse is pretty attractive, nonetheless. I love the weathered look of the pine green leather - it gives the handbag a relaxed feel without detracting from its overall elegance, and the color is fabulous for fall. The gold leather trim is a gorgeous accent. Who […]

Excuse Me While I Whip This Out

H&M will welcome another collection from the land of high dollar couture. Roberto Cavalli will be unleashing his affordable line for the retailer this November. The ads are currently keeping eyes peeled as billboards and ads are due to spring up in the near future. Why? Page Six delves into the background of the ads.

“Billboards and ads shot by controversial photographer Terry Richardson - who not only gets his models nude, but disrobes himself. His open-minded subjects, who’ll be shot in Florence, include Jessica Stam, Erin Wasson, Lydia Hearst, Theodora Richards, brother/sister duo Devon, Steve Aoki and Cavalli himself.”

The line, entitled “Decadence,” will hit 200 stores November 8th. It will feature 20 pieces of menswear, 25 pieces of women swear and lingerie with matching accessories. What really has my interest is how anyone could pose in front of a naked man with a camera. Imagine standing next to Roberto and Terry has his bits hanging out. I would have to say “Excuse me, but could you put the mouse back in his house….it’s Cavalli for God’s sake.”

There is still time to answer the 25 Point Trivia question this week. In keeping with the Harry Potter madness that is sweeping the land, you can find a forum for all your Deathly Hallows book talk.

Cavalli Has A Thing For…

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Well, you be the judge. Kate Moss and Crazy Pete Doherty have landed themselves in a Roberto Cavalli commercial. They were filmed frolicking in Ibiza. Originally Kate was slated to be the lone face in the ads, as she has been a Roberto model for two years. Crazy Pete happened to join her on her shoot and then somehow oozed his way into the ads and the 6 figure salary.

A second commercial will follow. The first ad will feature the two in a “passionate beach embrace.” Pete will now represent the fall/winter lines. Cavalli has previously used Tony Ward in the above 2003 “Men” fragrance commercial. I think I prefer Tony. Then again…I think I’d even prefer Kelsey Grammer over Pete.

Famester fans….remember Newsies? Show your love for Christian Bale in the Film Forum. There is also two more days for you to cash in on 25 Point Trivia. If you know what Brad Pitt majored in his college years, you’re in luck. You can also exercise your literature muscle in the Book Lounge. Plum Sykes is one of my personal favorites too. Glad to see I’m not alone.

Hennes and Mauritz are making high powered friends everywhere. Madonna’s line for the growing chain will have to move over for Roberto Cavalli.

The fashion guru for the Gods and H&M have joined forces for the sake of fashion. A line of men and women’s clothing for a temporary collection to be sold in H&M stores. Mark your calendars for Nov. 8th. If the launch will be anything like Madonna’s line, you should be prepared to throw elbows for a sweater.
