UPDATE: OK, so TMZ’s not the only one with winged monkeys. We did a little snooping around on our own and even though it’s really just word of mouth, it sounds like Glenn Gurniak has worked for Splash News for almost a year now and actually spent less than five months over at TMZ. Either way, I think we can all agree that G-Hollywood is an awesome nickname. Almost as good as the Dudemeister. And by awesome, I mean terrible.

This is some breaking news from ERS News, which is reporting that a man formerly employed by TMZ–one of their winged monkeys going by the nickname of “G-Hollywood”–is a registered sex offender. G-Hollywood, or Glenn Gurniak (which is his real name) worked for the online celebrity gossip powerhouse for a good chunk of time in 2006 and throughout early 2007, but now is currently employed by Splash News. Gurniak’s offenses relate to his illegal sexual encounter with an underage girl and TMZ claims that Gurniak “hasn’t worked for the company in some time” and refused to discuss the issue of his past, claiming that they wouldn’t discuss “personnel matters.” Additionally, Splash News claims that up until the story broke on ERS, they were unaware of Gurniak’s offenses.

OK, in the scheme of things, this isn’t really celebrity news, but you gotta love that super-aggressive TMZ is getting called out. Even though, when you think about it, all the really good gossip comes from the shadiest of sources.
