Daniel Radcliffe Experiencing Broadway Anxiety
Even though he looks very poised in these pictures, Daniel Radcliffe is nervous about the prospect of stepping out onto a Broadway stage. The eight-week run he recently enjoyed in his role as a stable boy in “Equus” in London has come to an end and despite receiving positive reviews, Radcliffe is anxious that New York audiences might not be as easy to please.
“It will be amazing, but I will be terrified because I was talking to Richard Griffiths about playing New York and he said the most stupid thing you can do is underestimate New York audience.
“But I know we have a good show, it was a good show when we did it in London and hopefully if we do it again it will still be that good. It has to be better.”
The show is expected to be opening in Broadway by late 2008, which gives Daniel a little extra time to rehearse, and for him to age so that those of us who feel dirty about the prospect of seeing him nude on stage can feel a smidge better about it.
