The hottest design talent sat fingers crossed last night. The annual awards for the Council of Fashion Designers of America had fashion gurus rolling out in hopes to be big winner. The awards are like the Oscars for the fashion industry. CFDA members, editors, stylists and retailers toil for hours over the best-of-the-best in the design realm for winners.

When Ellen Barkin opened the envelope, she was surprised to see more than one name. Oscar de la Renta shared his award with the minds behind Proenza Schouler. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez happily tied with Oscar for the award. De la Renta handled the tie with unwavering grace and like an adorable old gym teacher said, “There are no losers, there are only winners.” He went on to further share the title by stating that Marc Jacobs’ name should also be on the award.
