Geri Halliwell Looking to be the British Oprah

Well, that's a huge overstatement, clearly, but it was done with the best of intentions--in other words, to get your attention. Perhaps the British Tyra Banks, which means I'm hoping for Geri to deliver a version of this rant at some point, only in a British accent, of course. The artist formerly known as Ginger Spice is looking to try her hand at the whole talk show thing in the UK. She's planning on filming a pilot episode shortly, and if she's able to sell the idea to the British channel ITV1, then she could snag herself a weekday slot during primetime.

The one-time Ginger Spice counts George Michael and Little Britain star David Walliams as her close pals - as well as her former bandmates.

A source told Broadcast magazine: "It's really early days but the idea is that Geri could really get to the heart of issues with her guests."

Those Spice Girls sure aren't ones to rest on their laurels. They have laurels, right? Upon which to rest? In any case, there sure wasn't anything about "Spice World" that would indicate they'd still be considered culturally relevant nearly a decade later, so um...congrats, gals.

Meanwhile, ya gotta love the guy who lets his ass hang out just so he can snap a pic of Geri Halliwell.
