Kidney Or No Kidney
Ever mentally undressed someone with your eyes and tried to imagine what they’d look like in, say, your bedroom? Well, how about mentally harvesting their organs and auctioning off their kidneys to the highest bidder?
Well, if you live in the Netherlands, you’re in luck, because have they got the reality tv show for you!
A Dutch reality television show in which a terminally ill woman is to select one of three contestants to receive her kidneys when she dies is to air this week despite criticism that it pushes the boundaries of the format too far.
The government has called for De Grote Donorshow (The Big Donor show) to be dropped because it is “unethical” and “wretched” but the broadcaster BNN said it would go ahead to highlight the difficulties of searching for kidney donors.
Auctioning off bodily organs as prizes? What could be unethical about that! Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’d like to clear our heads by watching The Insider exploit a bunch of morbidly obese people for entertainment’s sake.
