Apparently, Jessica Simpson dropped in during Tuesday night's Time 100 party. Who knew??

Mayer's girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, avoided attention by sneaking in late (and choosing a gown with a much higher neckline than that number she wore to Monday's Met gala.)

And also, apparently, the NYP.

Most of the black-tie crowd was unaware that a demurely dressed Jessica Simpson snuck in to watch boyfriend John Mayer perform. She sat at a side table and slipped out when he finished his set.

And, let's not forget WWD.

On Tuesday, [John Mayer] stayed true to his laid-back stance and popped open two top buttons on his shirt. The message to fashion observers? "This says, I'll play your game only so far," he quipped. Other attendees included...Mayer's girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, who dashed in right before Mayer took to the stage.

So, basically, everyone. But cheer up, Jess! Your evasive maneuvering and prudish dress-wearing may not have escaped the press' notice, and your boyfriend (John "Two Button" Mayer) may be fighting guyliner aficionado Pete Wentz for "Metrosexual of the Year," but at least you didn't get the Scarlet Jo treatment.
