Chins are wagging about Jessica Simpson being a no-show for the Operation Smile benefit the other night. She was previously one of their most visible supporters, and journeyed to Africa on their behalf in a much publicized trip awhile back. Sources say she hasn't had anything to do with the charity in over a year. She's probably been too busy trying to escape her father's clutches.

"She's turned her back on them," the spy said. "She got a lot of good publicity from the charity but re fused to let pictures of her be in the com memorative book and hasn't done anything with them in a year."

But Jessica, think of the children! Simpson's rep says that she was actually in Germany for the UNESCO gala, and accepting an award for her philanthropic work. Which was partly based on her work with the Smile organization. All I want to know is - how does she make money? She can't act, sing, and her sister's gotten better-looking than her. The reality show was awhile ago and we know how that turned out. What does she do exactly? It's all in the boobs, right?
