John Mayer is a really funny guy!  Not only does he make incredible music with heartfelt lyrics, but he’s also pretty darn good at stand up comedy.  He proved just that at the Comedy Cellar in New York City last Saturday night. 

In light of his recent rollercoaster relationship with Jessica Simpson, he probably needed to blow off a little steam.  And he did so in hilarious style.  “I don’t wash my clothes to make them cleaner, I wash them to make them tighter – that’s what makes me single,” he says, while casually leaning against the wall. “Guys, I don’t have a washer-dryer, I have a wetter-tightener.”

He also spoofed Carrie Underwood.  “It’s basically a woman, for 4½ minutes, just abusing the s--- out of a guy.” Mayer mused that maybe it wasn’t the guy cheating, but rather the woman being psycho that ended the song’s relationship.

One of the highlights was when John explained that men couldn’t write songs like that.  If a guy went on a tirade of destroying a woman’s possessions and threatening her, he’d be arrested and creepy.
