John Stamos is blaming his recent Aussie meltdown on sleeping pills. He says that he took medication that was meant to give someone eight hours of sleep, and because he got up early he was groggy and acting krunk. If you’ll recall he went on an Australian morning show and made dick jokes and hit on the female host. I wouldn’t worry, no one’s watching “ER” anymore anyway.

“I was not drinking. I did not drink either morning,” the ER star tells TVGuide.com. “I do not have an alcohol problem. I am not David Hasselhoff. This is not a pattern.”

Stamos, on the other hand, says the jet lag and improper use of Ambien led to his odd interview with a reporter from Sydney’s Daily Telegraph and on the Australian chat show Mornings with Kerri-Anne last month during which he slurred his speech, read lines from the teleprompter and made lewd gestures in front of her.

John expressed his regrets, and says that he hopes Australia will forgive him because he hopes to “retire there still”. Really? It looks like it’s really hot. And the Great Barrier Reef has sea wasps! One sting and you die in horrible screaming agony. And there’s sharks. It’s really pretty but deadly. And there’s the educational portion of your morning. And David Hasselhoff hates you, John! Sheathe those claws!
