Julia Stiles + Cosmo = The Following Post
On the cover of Cosmo’s latest issue, Julie Stiles is hoofing her latest project, “The Bourne Ultimatum,” and chats with the magazine about what are probably the two most pressing issues facing Hollywood actresses: body-image and the challenge of maintaining a romantic relationship, while balancing her career. When talking about her weight, Julia says that she likes to keep it healthy, rather than struggling to attain an impossible body ideal.
“I try not to get wrapped up with physical insecurities… the shrinking-actress thing. I don’t naturally have a good metabolism, but I am lucky in that I am naturally drawn to healthy food.”
And her opinion on romantic relationships is similarly jarring, since I’m not used to hearing Hollywood starlets using what sounds an awful lot like common sense.
“I think women get caught up too much in having a plan - I’m going to get married at this age; I’m going to have a kid at this age - and then they just try to find a guy who will fit into that picture…I don’t want my life to be based on that. I would rather it all evolve organically.”
Yes, I agree. But not because I’m sensible, but because I’m way too lazy to even respond to Evites, much less attempt to plan out my life that far in advance. I mean, I get stressed out trying to figure out what to make myself for dinner. And the choices are usually cereal or PBJ.
