Yes, yes, I know. I’m not supposed to like Juliette Lewis and her band, the Licks, but the truth of the matter is that I once happened to catch a performance with a friend on a lark and the woman was so hilariously entertaining that despite myself, I actually really enjoyed it. First of all, she’s tiny and crazy–two things I absolutely love. Secondly, she’s just so ridiculously over the top and knows it, but doesn’t really seem to care if people think she’s an weirdo actress trying to live out a rock and roll fantasy and I have to give her kudos for that. And finally, when I did see her on stage, she took her tiny little bicep, made a very pronounced fist and yelled out while leaning into the audience, “Flex your corporate muscle, AMERICA!” I mean, come on. That’s hilarious.
