Kate Moss and Lily Allen: Fashion Face-Off
Kate Moss is attempting to attract New York fahionistas with her new Topshop clothing line by insisting that she’s “just a normal girl.”
The supermodel’s new fashion line - which was a hit in its London debut last week - enjoyed the US launch at Barney’s department store in NYC, with Kate turning up to a special party afterwards.
While everything was said to have sold out in about an hour, Kate’s new line is not without its critics.
Soon-to-be competitor Lily Allen has vocalized her displeasure with Moss’ new duds, telling Grazia magazine: “Kate’s clothes are just for skinny, perfect girls. I won’t be buying any.”
“I couldn’t get into those tiny hot pants if I tried, and if I did I’d look ridiculous. The hard thing is to get everybody of every size to look fantastic,” Lily added.
In an attempt to contradict Allen’s stance, Moss reportedly told The Sun she was no different from the rest of us.
“I’m just a normal girl too,” she’s quoted as saying. “I’m no different. I may be a little bit taller, but that’s it. I know what I like to wear and I like to think it’s the kind of taste a lot of other women will like too.”
We’ll have to wait and see whether Allen’s new line can outdo Moss’. From initial sales, we’ll put our money on Kate.
