The movie version of “Nine,” a musical based on the Federico Fellini film “8 1/2,” is being fiercely pursued by both Katie Holmes and Demi Moore, both of whom have already auditioned for roles in the film, according to a piece in the New York Post.

“The wife of Tom Cruise and mother of little Suri did a singing and dancing audition in Marshall’s office on Tuesday, as did Moore. Also being talked about are Marshall’s Chicago stars, Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones,” states the article.

The project is set to be directed by the Tony and Oscar-nominated Rob Marshall and is being backed by producer Harvey Weinstein. I don’t know if Katie and Demi have any musical experience under their belt, and quite frankly, I’m too lazy to look it up online at the moment. All of my knowledge of dance was acquired during a very short stint of ballet and tap that lasted all of six months when I was about five years old. If I had to walk into an audition like that, there would be a lot of me demonstrating what a seed looks like after it’s been planted and then blooms into a flower. Sometimes, I try that move out in the club.
