Leo DiCaprio Faces Lawsuit Over Basketball Court
From starring in The Basketball Diaries to numerous sightings at LA Lakers games, Leonardo DiCaprio has always been known to be a fan of the sport of basketball. This passion led the actor to begin construction of a personal basketball court at his home - which now looks as if it may land Leo in another kind of court.
According to People reports, “DiCaprio’s Los Angeles neighbors, Ronald and Joan Linclau, filed a lawsuit Thursday alleging that DiCaprio’s backyard renovation for the recreation area has caused damage to their uphill property since July 2004.”
The neighbors insist that they had repeatedly “demanded” that the ‘Blood Diamond’ actor stop construction, but said that their pleas went “ignored”.
The Superior Court lawsuit contends that “DiCaprio maliciously crossed onto the couple’s property, cutting and removing hedges, excavating earth, granite and bedrock, which has destabilized their deck and pool.”
Total damage is claimed to be a bit more than $250,000. No word yet from the DiCaprio camp - but we’ll keep you updated when something more comes of this little battle of neighbors.
