Will Lily Allen Soon Be Singing the “Rehab” Song?
As much as I do love my British chicks to have dark hair, dark problems and awesome voices, I can’t help but be at least a little concerned about Lily Allen and her self-professed drinking problem. The young British pop singer has admitted that she believes she suffers from alcoholism, which she believes has been exacerbated by the pressures of touring the world to perform, as well as promoting her album. She’s most infamously been very publicly battling the singer, Cheryl Tweedy, of the British pop sensation Girls Aloud, as well as skipping out on a series of live shows here in the States.
“I’m an alcoholic now. It’s not good and that’s why I want to get back into the studio.
“I’ve actually pulled myself aside and said it will kill me if I keep it up. I’ve got to stop abusing myself because as far as I’m concerned every loon hates me now.”
Well, at least it sounds like she’s not deluding herself about her problem. And as much as I do love me some boozy chicks tearing it up on stage, it’s probably best that she not let it get to the point of shaving her head and getting some really horrible tattoos. Cause that shit’s just tacky and don’t British people hate that or something? Insert a stereotypical, uninspired line about tea and crumpets here, thanks.
