OutKast’s Andre 3000 is apparently confirmed to be playing Sammy Davis Jr. in an upcoming biopic documenting the Rat Pack star’s relationship with the actress Kim Novak. Reported by the Kansas City Star, the movie Sammy And Kim will be based on Davis’s affair with the white actress, famed for her roles in the films of Alfred Hitchcock.

The interracial romance caused a stir in 1950s Hollywood, and threatened to derail both of their careers. Following his appearances in movies such as Be Cool, Idlewild, and Charlotte’s Web, Andre is also currently working with comedian Will Ferrell in the forthcoming basketball comedy Semi-Pro. Semi-Pro is set in the 1970s and centres on Jackie Moon, played by Ferrell, an owner, coach, and player of the American Basketball Association’s fictional Flint Michigan Tropics.
