Footwork: Fall 2007
LATISHA:
As a self-admitted shoe connoisseur, I’ve really been looking forward to chatting with Clutch readers about fall’s must-have footwear. With so many options for inexpensive clothing on the market, selecting timeless and quality footwear is very important, now more than ever. It’s time to get your shoe game up ladies! Footwear should stand out and be extremely sexy, unique and comfortable at the same time. I know this is a lot to ask for but as we all know, limping around uncomfortably in a hot pair of shoes can make any woman–no matter how fly–look absolutely foolish!
This fall I’m happy to report that designers have really pushed the creative envelope by offering styles that truly work with the season’s menswear inspired styles. For me, it’s all about the Stella McCartney satin pump right now! Marc Jacobs is back at it again, too, with styles that every fashion maven will seek out this season. I love his oxford and spectator pump for all of the wide leg trousers we’ll see on the streets. With tons of versatility, this particular style also compliments the form-flattering pencil skirts and dresses that we’ll be seeing a lot of. There are several designers that I’m keeping my eyes on for footwear this fall but following are a few of my favorites:

COLIN:
Every season, we see new shoe trends emerge from designers across the globe. Fall 2007 is no exception. What I’m seeing and enjoying the most this season in terms of women’s footwear is the masculine meets feminine approach. I like the platform styles that are coming back because they remind me of the shoe that I love to see Latisha in the most—the wedge. The 50s influenced ankle boots are sexy and look great with skinny leg jeans to give the ladies a nice silhouette.
Latisha didn’t address the mary jane flats but let me set the record straight . . they’re done and I’m over the look! They were OK for summer, but in the cooler temperatures, try another style that actually looks good and can keep your feet warm.
The silk shoe trend is another flattering style and most every designer has taken a stab at the look this season. Note to the ladies: anything that’s smooth to the touch makes it that much more appealing to the fellas!
