Wedding bells are ringing for MTV star Nick Cannon, who just proposed to longtime girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret model Selita Banks. The Short-Circuitz host proceeded to give his soon-to-be bride a 12 carat diamond for her to show off to her girlfriends.

Cannon popped the question at the well-attended Costume Institute Gala at the Met.

Adding a little pizazz to the memorable moment, Cannon had “Selita will you marry me?” lit up on the giant jumbotron in the Square.

To top things off, Nick flew in Selita’s parents and best friends. The group enjoyed an ensuing engagement party, with the happy couple catching a private plane back to L.A. so Nick could be back at MTV on Tuesday morning.
