As we all know by now, Nicole Richie breezed in and out of jail in less time than it takes me to do an easy-level advanced-level crossword puzzle when she spent a whopping eighty-two minutes in in jail yesterday afternoon, which, according Nicole’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, is nothing out of the ordinary.

“She was really treated like any other inmate,” Holley said. “I think every inmate in her position, with that type of charge, would have been treated as she was.”

Hmm…well, whatever. I’ve stopped believing that anyone actually goes to jail. I don’t know what all this fuss over “overcrowding” is all about. Clearly, no jail time=problem solved. In any case, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. said that the starlet was on her best behavior during the entire process, in a statement released to TMZ.
