Paris Hilton showed her patriotism on Monday (May 28), throwing a BBQ to honor America’s fallen heroes (and providing herself with the opportunity for another heartfelt set of photos - this time posing with the American Flag).

Attendees of the little get-together included Paris, her sister Nicky, ‘Simple Life’ co-star Nicole Richie, and unlikely pal Elisha Cuthbert. While the girls all looked to be in good spirits, the topic of the day had to center on Paris’ upcoming jail term that begins on June 5th - exactly one week from today.

In recent days, numerous Paris Hilton acquaintances have spoken out about her impending 23 day sentence, with most of them putting a bright spin on the dreaded day - claiming that the hotel heiress will lose weight and look more beautiful after she goes to prison.

Fashion designer Alvin Valley, a good friend of the socialite, said, “Prison will be the best thing that ever happened to Paris Hilton.”

Another friend added, “It’s going to make her more famous than ever. In jail, she’s going to get enviably skinny, and without any make-up or products her hair and skin will finally be able to breathe, so they’ll look amazing, too.”

While these upbeat claims should help lift Paris’ spirits, we just hope that she doesn’t totally buy into these claims. Have you ever seen the female inmate population? Well, it’s certainly no beauty contest and we’ll just leave it at that!
