In a verdict that’s taken Hollywood by surprise, a judge has sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in Los Angeles County jail on Friday (May 4) for violating her probation in a reckless driving case.

The hotel heiress didn’t help her own cause, arriving to court 10 minutes late in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade. According to CBS reports, “When she got out, Paris swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, also came with her.”

Showing some level of respect for her situation, Paris didn’t show up in her typically loud apparel, opting to wear a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks, with a black headband on. “She said nothing and appeared serious,” onlookers noted.

After an initial DUI, two other traffic stops and the failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program landed the socialite back in court - and ultimately in jail.

On January 15, Paris was stopped by California Troopers who informed her that she was driving on a suspended license. Hilton claims that she never knew of the suspension, even though she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

LA Sheriff’s deputies pulled ‘The Simple Life’ star over again on February 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

According to CBS, “Hilton’s spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn’t aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on January 15 was found in the car’s glove compartment, court papers say.”

With the Judge unwilling to buy into Hilton’s claims, it looks like Paris is going to have to endure the most difficult 45 days of her life. From Gucci to prison orange issued gear.... how will she cope?
