Paris Hilton Clutching the Pearls

Someone get this woman some smelling salts! She is about to lay prostrate on a velvet chaise, whilst a manservant obligingly offers to draw the curtains. It seems the delicate lotus blossom is suffering from mental anguish as a result of her jail sentence stemming from her DUI and it is preventing her from being able to withstand the added pressure of having to go through further litigation. A psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, claims that he has occasionally treated Paris over the course of the past six months and has declared that the young heiress is "not capable of any meaningful participation" in regards to her upcoming civil trial with Zeta Graff. TMZ reports:

In a $10 million lawsuit filed in 2005, Graff claims that Hilton spread "vicious lies" about her that were printed in the New York Post.

Paris' shrink claims that Hilton is "emotionally distraught and traumatized" from the May 4 hearing where she was sentenced to 45 days in jail for breaking probation in her DUI bust, and asked a judge to allow her sufficient time to recover.

And, it seems that this ploy was successful, as the trial has been pushed back to August 22nd, hopefully allowing Paris enough time to crawl out of the bell jar, which I'm pretty sure she thinks is a club in Manhattan.
