It’s Friday and nearly the weekend, but I doubt that has Paris Hilton excited quite the way that it’s got me going. At the moment, she’s at her home in West Hollywood, which is being SWARMED with media, according to TMZ. Five helicopters are hovering overhead, waiting to catch a glimpse of the heiress on her way to today’s court date–the court appearance which will determine whether or not she’s allowed to continue serving her sentence from home with her ankle bracelet and house arrest, or will have to return to jail.

And now, TMZ is also reporting that it’s looking like all of this craziness might have Paris phoning in her court appearance.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Paris Hilton will be phoning in her court appearance.

UPDATE: TMZ is learning that there is a battle raging inside the courtroom between Paris’ lawyer, the City Attorney and the Sheriff’s Dept. — over the decision to allow Paris Hilton to appear by phone this morning.
