Excerpts from Pete Doherty’s diaries, detailing his struggles with heroin, crack and his love, Kate Moss, have been published in the London Times recently, providing an insider’s look at the 28-year-old rocker’s relationship with the waifish supermodel. Most specifically, the two plan to wed this summer, on the condition that Doherty remains “smack and needle-free”. Hmm, I don’t think I’d put the deposit down on the caterer just yet. Doherty also talked of falling off the wagon and the damage it did to his relationship with Kate:

“I have been banging up I confess, and yet my use is extremely moderate and controlled. What am I saying? Kate will not tolerate this s***, I wouldn’t blame her, and alongside the fixing neither of us seem to completely trust each other although I love her and no other and the tiffs and tumults come between magical happy times. The most cherished times are spent in her arms.”

After reading some of this stuff, I’m now convinced that all famous crackheads should be forced to keep diaries. Also, they should be allowed to have free video cameras, with which to make as many music videos as they please. Whitney, girl, I’m talking to you.
