The year was 1986, I was five and I’m not even sure we had a TV then. A few years later we purchased a tiny TV and with the ‘bunny ears’ we could get 2 whole channels (NBC & PBS). I was pretty much only allowed to watch The Cosby Show and Unsolved Mysteries, well until the latter started giving me nightmares. Let’s get back on track…if I did have a TV to watch I’m sure this little number from NBC’s 60th Anniversary special would have made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I was like that as a child. Now I’m just cold and dead inside. What? The song “Family” from Dreamgirls is hilariously re-worked by Barbara Eden, Nell Carter, Charlotte Rae, Punky Brewster (Soleil Moon Frye), Alfonso Ribeiro, Marla Gibbs, and Bea Arthur. Enjoy some nostalgic goodness.
