I started watching “Mad Men” on AMC when I was house-sitting for a friend of mine with cable and I have to say that it’s a pretty strong argument for me to seriously consider breaking down and just going ahead and reintroducing cable into my life. Although some of the first episodes were a bit slow, once I got into the intrigue of Donald Draper and the various subplots (and the outfits, of course) I was hooked. Here’s a sneak peek of episode nine, which will be airing on AMC Thursday night at 10 PM/9c, and the synopsis for which I found on the AMC website for the show.

A rival ad agency courts Don, involving Betty in their attempt to lure him from Sterling Cooper. As the presidential campaign heats up, the agency looks for new ways to counter the latest Kennedy ads. Tempers flare over Peggy.
