You Spin Me Round: Eight Tracks

I listen to a ton of music every day, and, as a result, my “favorites list” constantly evolves. As quickly as my new favorites cycle in, the old favorites fade away. These are my top eight tracks for the month of June.

1. Paolo Nutini - “Jenny Don’t Be Hasty”

I’ll admit I’m late to the party, just recently learning of twenty-year-old Scottish singer Paolo Nutini. After hearing he was scheduled to open up for Amy Winehouse’s fall tour, I picked up his 2006 disc These Streets and fell completely in love.

2. Kanye West - “Stronger”

I have a love/hate relationship with Kanye West; the more press he gets, the less I like him. I despised Late Registration, and assumed Kanye’s narcissistic tracks would never darken my iPod again… but I was wrong.

I’m not sure if “Stronger” is a mind-blowing track because of the sample from one of Daft Punk’s finest singles (”Harder, Better, Faster, Better”) or because of Kanye’s irresistible offer - “you can be my black Kate Moss tonight.” Either way, I’m hooked.

Numbers 3 - 8, plus a free Amy Winehouse MP3, are after the jump.
